It's May! Spring is here, summer is around the corner, and it's a great time to check out some of the top-notch artists in the Chicago area. 

May 9 | Chicago Cultural Center | 12:00 (noon) | FREE | James Falzone Trio

The James Falzone Trio is giving a free concert at the Chicago Cultural Center. If you've never heard James outside of church, this is the perfect opportunity.  Take your lunch break at the Chicago Cultural Center and take in some incredible music.

May 9 | Constellation | 7:00-8:00 | Three on Three Improvisation

An improvised set with a variety of musicians and dancers featuring James Falzone. This is going to be a memorable night, but it's improvised, so who's to know?

May 17 | The Burlington | 9:00pm | Weatherman w/ Marvin Tate

Weatherman is the second of a three band set at The Burlington. Marvin Tate headlines what will definitely be a special night. 

May 19 | Willow Creek North Shore | 7:00-10:00 | $15 | Art, Music, Justice Tour

Thursday, May 19th, International Justice Mission will be hosting a benefit concert at Willow Creek North Shore. Brandon Heath and Sara Groves are headlining the concert. IJM's work to fight human trafficking and slavery is incredible and this is a great opportunity to support their work. 

May 21 | Victory Gardens Theater | 2:00-9:00 | Counter Balance

This is the world premiere of a work in music and choreography. It features the choreography of Alice Sheppard. Below, the dancers pictured in rehearsal. Check out the link to learn more.

May 22 | Davin Youngs Studio | 5:00-7:00 | Circle Singing

Circle Singing is improvised spontaneous singing in a group. The effect of singing together is surprising and uplifting. Join Davin on Sunday evening to try it for yourself. No singing skills or abilities required!

May 23 | Experimental Sound Studio | 7:30 | $10 | Improv-Trio

The Experimental Sound Studio is always churning out unique events. On the 23rd Steve Swell (trombone), Fred-Longberg-Holm (cello), and Michael Zerang (percussion) will put on a show. This is a great opportunity to support the local music scene and expose yourself to some new music.
